Tom Glenn High 2019 Graduation
The first graduating class from Tom Glenn High School in Leander walked the stage and received their diplomas starting at 8 a.m. the morning of May 31st.
A unique high school designed to encourage collaboration among both students and teachers, Glenn High School features open work spaces and movable furniture so students can work together on their projects, study together, and brainstorm ideas.
Tom Glenn High School, called “the high school of the future” by the Austin American-Statesman, is located just across the street from Deerbrooke. Its innovative design has been attracting attention since the school opened in the fall of 2016.
This year’s Tom Glenn High graduation is an exciting milestone for the school, whose mission is “To embrace the diversity of our community, to provide rigorous educational experiences, and to create a culture of growth that prepares students to be the next generation of achievers.”
According to Principal Arturo Lomeli, Glenn High School’s motto is having GRIT + 3: Global mindset, risk-taker, integrity, tenacity, and go above and beyond. This motto drives the school academically, athletically and in the fine arts. Principal Lomeli says the school considers itself a community school which is actively engaged in building partnerships with businesses, the faith-based community, and the city of Leander.
As far as the first class to achieve Tom Glenn High graduation is concerned, last September Principal Lomeli said, “They live out what it means to have GRIT+3 and model what it means to be a Grizzly. They are a very special class and graduation will be a celebration of their accomplishments.”
Congratulations to the Class of 2019 on their Tom Glenn High graduation!
